Our Mission

Our mission is to promote the science of astronomy, and encourage the education and participation of pagan amateur astronomers. As our ancestors were the historical founders of the science, and based upon the strong interest and association of modern pagans with the sun, moon, stars and celestial deities, it seems a natural occurrence that more modern pagans would become involved in the study of the heavens. Astronomy remains one of the few sciences today where amateurs routinely make major contributions, indeed there are more amateur astronomers in the U.S. then professional ones. It is therefore the hope of this network to make connections between pagan amateur astronomers across the country, and encourage them to step forward privately and at festivals in order to share the wonder and discovery that waits above. Hopefully "Take back the night" will gain an additional meaning, as our people once again explore the history, mythology, science, and sheer beauty and wonder of the skies above.
